CHOBE is delighted to announce the next webinar in our series. This will be delivered by Chris Mason, from the University of the West of England. It will take place on Tuesday 21st September, 14:00-15:30.

To register please email janek@chobe.org.uk.

We look forward to welcoming you to this webinar.

About the webinar

After reflecting on the pedagogic underpinnings of the project, the webinar will explore the practicalities of developing and delivering a virtual multination fieldtrip. The focus will be on UWE’s Virtual International Property Week, 2021 (IPW). Via MS Teams students from Antwerp, Aschaffenburg, Bristol and Rotterdam worked collaboratively to solve a property-based problem. This provided a platform to facilitate collaborative learning and learner engagement.

The webinar will share lessons learnt and will offer pointers to attendees who may be developing similar interactive projects. It will be of particular interest to colleagues with students on distant learning programmes, as well as those responding to the challenges posed by teaching and learning during the pandemic. There will be an opportunity for questions/discussion.

About the presenter

As a senior lecture at UWE Chris draws on 40 years’ experience of working in both the public and private sectors as a general practice surveyor.  Chris’ areas of interest include strategic estate management, property management, landlord and tenant law, and taxation.  Using this knowledge, it is possible to develop problem-based learning exercises and assessment, which are incorporated into the multinational International Property Week, taken by students from four European countries.

In addition, his work at UWE, Chris is a borough councillor and non-executive director for a housing association.
