Building People is a social enterprise that is increasing diversity across the built environment by aggregating careers opportunities and simplifying connections between diverse supply and industry demand.

Rebecca Lovelace founded Building People in 2017 and has over twenty years’ experience in creating practical solutions to address the industry challenges of diversity, skills and social impact. She took the title ‘Chief Dot-joiner’ at Building People as a (not very subtle) reference to the need for collaboration and the provision of support to existing initiatives, rather than the creation of new and often short-term attempted solutions.

About the webinar:

The problem that the construction and built environment sector is faced with is simple to state: The UK needs to build; there is a shortage of competent and experienced workers, and the workforce we have lacks diversity and is not reflective of UK society. The solution is less simple and requires a team effort, which isn’t easy in our fragmented sector.

Hear from Rebecca Lovelace, Founder and Chief Dot-joiner at Building People, who will explain practical and straightforward ways for organisations to engage with diverse and under-represented audiences and the employers seeking this talent. Learn how to share vacancies, events and knowledge and provide input into future phases of Building People, specifically the development of an Education and Training module to aggregate learning opportunities from a multitude of providers.

This webinar will be of interest to both academic staff and those involved in information and guidance for the built environment professional sector.

As usual, we will be using Zoom as the platform for the webinar. If you would like to attend, please reply to janek@chobe.org.uk to reserve a place.

Joining details and a calendar invitation will be sent out 1 week before the event.
